Built for California code
New construction and major remodels in California have to meet the electrical code plus the state's energy and green building rules (Title 24 and CALGreen), which cover things like high-efficacy lighting, lighting controls and EV-ready circuits. We plan for those from the start, so there are no surprises at inspection.
For general contractors
We know the job depends on trades showing up when they say they will. Send us your plans and schedule, and we'll give you a clear bid and be on site when the framing is ready.
Questions
Construction questions
When should I bring in the electrician?
As early as the drawings stage. Panel size, service location, kitchen and lighting layout, and EV and solar readiness all affect the plans, and it's far cheaper to get them right on paper than to change them after framing.
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes. We work with general contractors, builders, designers and homeowners. Send your plans and schedule and we'll give you a clear bid.
Does an ADU need its own electrical panel?
Most ADUs get a sub-panel fed from the main house, and some get their own separate service and meter. It depends on the size of the ADU, your existing panel and your plans, and we'll work out the right option with a load calculation.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes, Seaside Electric does both residential and commercial electrical work. Call or send us the details of your project.
